Highly recommended
Fantastic service and product highly recommended great value for money five stars
Excellent resource to learn how to program … including physical computing
I’ve been programming for decades, but needed to find a book for my niece who had an interest in learning.First… it covers all models of the Raspberry Pi.Second… it doesn’t assume you know anything about the Raspberry Pi family OR anything about programming.Third… it’s great for all-ages. Sections near the front of the book teach programming concepts in a language called Scratch. Scratch is a visual language in that you drag & drop functions into your program rather than typing traditional lines of code.Fourth… it teaches you how to do physical computing … using the General Purpose IO interface on the Raspberry Pi to control physical hardware (lights, switches, circuits, motors, etc.)Lastly… it teaches you how to interface with common peripherals such as camera modules or sensor boards. It is well written and does a great job explaining concepts in simple terms that do not use technical jargon or make assumptions on previous knowledge.
Amazing for Beginners
This book is exactly what I was looking for. New to Raspberry Pi and this had me animating on Scratch 3 in an hour. The way the author breaks down and simplifies each component of recent Raspberry Pi’s may be one of the best explanations I’ve seen. The illustrations and figures are perfect screenshots of what you actually see while using RPi which makes it very easy to follow. If you’re new to RPi and don’t know where to start, it’s this book. I cannot recommend this enough for utilizing any Raspberry Pi model to its fullest potential.
