Customer Reviews
Greek vegetarian cuisine
I bought this book as a gift for my daughter who has a Greek partner. I loved the book so much, I bought a second copy for myself! I am a vegetarian, and I love the fact that I can make authentic Greek food, but also cater for my dietary requirements. Beautifully presented, and inspiring.
Muy original y bonito
Una maravilla, recetas muy originales y bien explicadas. Fotos, como todas las de esta editorial, espectaculares. Ingredientes fáciles de encontrar en su mayoría.
My Favorite Cookbook of 2019
I collect cookbooks and this is my favorite by far of 2019.Each recipe is accompanied by a color photo so you know what the finished dish should look like, as well as the prep time, cooking time and number of servings. There is also a brief description of the dish including potential substitutions for ingredients you may not have on hand, and variations in case you don't like a key ingredient or want to try something slightly different. There are chapters for Meze, Dips and Snacks; Salads; Breakfasts and Brunches; Light Lunches; Dinners; and Bakes and Desserts as well as a glossary and an index of recipes and ingredients.I appreciated the range of ingredients and dishes included in Greek Vegetarian. I've looked at quite a few other vegetarian cookbooks which seem to rely heavily on a few ingredients (such as fennel) which I don't like, which meant I would have to figure out a substitution for each of the recipes that included them. I was also glad that very few recipes in the Greek Vegetarian Cookbook call for a meat substitute (such as tempeh) as I prefer to get protein from beans, nuts and eggs. There are a few ingredients that not all kitchens may have such as orange blossom water, za'atar and pomegranate molasses which I found at a local spice shop, but there are often substitutions listed for more exotic ingredients for people who don't have access to them. There are so many recipes I'm looking forward to making the next time I host dinner including the Roasted Pumpkin and Bulgur Pilaf, Chickpea Salad with Roasted Carrots, Griddled Eggplant and Pesto Rolls, and Fresh Fig and Orange Cake. The ingredient lists and instructions are clear and detailed, but I will update the review if I discover missing steps or poor results for any of the recipes I try.
A must have if you like healthy vegetarian Greek food
A really amazing array of recipes, definitely exceeded my expectations
