Customer Reviews
Vital for all students
I am a computer science student and this book is beyond vital for my studies. I am hoping to work in Software Engineering and programming is a huge aspect of my degree, so we use this book at university. Even though it is the 6th edition, it is still very relevant. This book is a must own for students of this subject and computer science.
Timeless
I've had this book for 12 years now. Started reading it again and i found that most, if not all of the topics are as relevant today as they were on date of publishing! Money spent on this was an investment. If you are a passionate developer or are interested in software then this is good read. While the examples are written in C++ and ADA, which are old languages and not as widely used arguably, the examples are easy to follow even for beginners.
Four Stars
All ok. Seller professional and speed. Book description was correct!
Five Stars
Well written book that covers the topics well. Helped on my studies.
New to the subject
I am not from a formal software engineering background but have been programming for about 6 years. I've decided to do an M.Sc. in Software Engineering and found this book an excellent introduction into the subject. It is clear and well written, if only all I.T. related books could claim this. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good starting point. It provides the opportunity to explore the subject areas in more detail as "Further Reading" is recommended throughout.
