A fantastic book, if you're in the market for an advanced managerial accounting text
I pity any undergrad who has to read this book for an intro to Managerial Accounting course. The links to economic theory, the subtlety of Demski's analysis of "rough" vs. "precise" costing systems, short vs. long-term costs, performance/incentive management, etc. are all well beyond what I'd have been able to handle as an undergrad.BUT ... if you are looking to develop a deep theoretical understanding of the practices of financial planning & analysis, costing, and other managerial accounting to
