Compelling read.
This is great reference material that quite deliberately explores a few issues, such as where computer technology has influenced the field of statistics, through to a self-confessed "idealised" account on data analysis. This is what was catching my attention prior to purchase. Each chapter, written by different authors, make for compelling read. Yet this presentation, while it is not intentionally a "hands-on-find-out-for-yourself" assignment type of text, it will inform and inspire the able rea

As good an overview as I've seen of the range of techniques for quantitative data analysis, with good explanations of how to use them and how to decide which to use when. Not for the introductory-level student or casual practitioner, but an excellent reference text for the somewhat experienced to very experienced data analyst.
