Not as flashy, but more substancial than contemporary calculus textbooks. Good preparation for real analysis.
It was written in 1985 and shows its age. There are no multicolored computer generated graphs. If you actually want to learn calculus, this text is preferable to contemporary books on the subject.It is above average in rigor and level of difficulty, but it is not an honors text. It contains many applications without neglecting the theory of calculus. The authors philosophy is learning by doing.
