5.0 out of 5 starsAwesome read
An awesome classic western, which doesnt glorify old times, life was hard for men women. We follow call and gus and their adventures in tragic journey. Beautiful writing by Larry.
5.0 out of 5 starsLike someone said... if you want to read one Western in your life, read this one!
One of the best Westerns I have ever read. This book covers the journey of two ex-Texas rangers with a group of cowhands (and thousands of cows) towards greener pastures of Montana from an arid, dry town called Lonesome Dove. Hundreds of reviews are written about this so it is very difficult to say something which has not been told already. What I personally liked is the way author takes time and effort in introducing the characters and developing them. At some point you feel like you know each of these characters personally and even think like them and anticipate what they would do. And of course their whole journey into the unknown, depicted beautifully and putting you right among the group and make you feel you are one of them experiencing everything first hand.Even if you are not a Western fan, I still suggest not to miss this wonderfully written book.
4.0 out of 5 starsGood
The right side top spine is slightly battered, but not unacceptable. The book is said to be a classic western novel.

5.0 out of 5 starsMust read old west novel
Attitude of gus, casual character of clara, personality of call gave me much more delights and emotions. If you read only one book about old west then this should be that one.
