Product Description
About the Book
This book explains why geometry should enter into parametric statistics and how the theory of asymptotic expansions involves a form of higher-order differential geometry. It gives some new explanations of geometric ideas from a first principles point of view as far as geometry is concerned.

Clear Explanations of Geometry Underlying Kernels & SVMs
Extremely pleased with this book. Am reading it in conjunction with Hamel’s “Knowledge Dixcovery with Support Vector Machines”, Watanabe’s “Algebraic Geometry & Statistical Learning Theory”, and Kirby’s “Geometric Data Analysis: An Empirical Approach to Dimensionality Reduction and the Study of Patterns”. Feature selection (aka dimension reduction, feature engineering) is my particular interest at the time.
