About the Book

Readable, brief and intelligent
Very readable, brief and intelligently written. It’s worth getting the book just to read the 10 pages of the introduction - it never occurred to me to wonder what the difference in meaning was between archetype and stereotype. And the reason for ancient gods raping goddesses was explained - that the gods of the invading country raped the goddesses of the country that had been invited to represent a new cosmology. Each chapter begins with a short one or two page summary which I found a bit hard going a bit intense but then the rest of each chapter is easier reading.
