A differenza dei nostri manuali di filosofia, invece di presentare la filosofia autore per autore, la presenta per tematiche (ovviamente rispettando l'ordine cronologico dello sviluppo del concetto). Excellent summary
By taking an approach that both describes the history of philosophy and goes into details about the actual philosophy he satisfies the needs of someone interested in both. It also means that if you find say, the medieval philosophy boring you will still have an appreciation for the progress philosophy takes if you skip the details. It's very clearly written as well.
Great book
The works are presented in a structured way. I think this is a better introduction to philosophy than Russell, although I never really read much of his introduction.Still, I think this book is a winner.
